Motorcycle Pre-Ride Inspection How-To Video

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) has a free video on their site. It's about their pre-ride inspection process, acronym ‘T-CLOCS,’ for Tires, Controls, Lights, Oil, Chassis and Stands.

A pre-ride inspection is a great idea that can save you from being stranded on the road or even help prevent an accident. A free pdf version of the T-CLOCS Checklist can be found here

For more information and to view the video, click here. Scroll down to General Motorcycling, first video is T-CLOCS.

If you discover you need tires, brake pads, a chain, whatever - give our Parts or Service departments a call at 209-832-3400 to get the part bought or the work scheduled cause we want you to ride safe!

unloading Polaris Rangers and RZRs

All our motorcycles, quads, PWCs, scooters, etc are delivered throughout the year by truck. Most of the side-by-sides are in crates, but the Polaris Rangers and RZRs are driveable and come in a double decker semi.

First get the ramps off the side of the trailer.
Then get the uprights out of the back.
Poor driver has to work bent over when inside the trailer.

Halfway there. Such a labor intensive process
just for 1 RZR.

The drivers do this at every stop,
up to 5 times a day. Tough way to make a living.

All set to drive a unit off the top deck.

Victory's slick new Octane

The long-awaited Octane is here.

Victory states that the Octane is like an American muscle car, in that it's light, fast, and affordable. This middle-weight Victory cruiser has a low seat height at 26.9 inches, and and the forward pegs give it a classic riding position. But the 104hp, the fairly short gearing, and the six-speed tranny give it performance closer to a Harley V-Rod than a 1200 Sportster.

Some specs: around 540lbs dry weight, 1179cc, 104hp, front tire 130/70-18, rear tire 160/70-17, 29 degrees/5.1" rake and trail, 5.1" fork travel, 3.0 twin rear shock travel, 6-speed transmission, 3.4gal tank.

Magazine test riders loved the Octane, calling the engine "sweet", pulling strongly thru the gears and hitting 100mph quickly.

Every Octane comes with a limited edition hat and t-shirt. Come on in and check out the latest muscley cruiser from Victory, priced to sell at $10,499.

all matchy matchy in the Parts dept

For the first time ever - light bulb moment! no clue why we never thought of it before - we have the off road helmets next to the dirt gear clothing style they go with! Looks very cool and gives you a great feel for how all the pieces fit together as a complete outfit.

These are all kid's gear except the last one, but we have lots of adult clothing too, so come on in and treat yourself to a new set of apparel. You know you want to.

Green and black gear on a green and black bike.
Yes, please.
Or live it up a little and get the helmet
with the crazy graphics!

Pink and black gear with a pink quad.
Pretty darn cute.
Or go with the pink & purple helmet option
for a little more pizzaz.

Great new color combo this year - aqua, purple and black -
and the helmet mimics the clothing graphics perfectly.
This is a really sharp outfit!
Not too flashy, just different enough to be exceptional.
Black, neon yellow, and pink look pretty hot.
The black keeps the pink from being girly,
making this work for boy or girl.
Love the colorful pop.

And for those of you who don't want to stand out
in the crowd too much,
but don't wanna feel like a total wallflower,
there's gray with neon yellow.

Top Ten Lists

The end of the year always triggers a slew of Top Ten lists, so I rounded up a few fun motorcycle related ones. Enjoy!

Cycle World's Ten Best Bikes of 2015    The Cycle World guys choose a top bike in various categories such as Cruiser, Middleweight Street Bike, Dual Sport , etc. Further down the page are the Top Ten Bikes for past years clear back to 2005. Looking thru those should give you a few trips down memory lane.

RideApart's Top Ten of the Top Ten    This is a fun list with all sorts of odd categories like Most Futuristic, Most Tangled in Barbed-Wire, Most Expensive Sold at Auction.

Motorcycle.com's Most Anticipated Motorcycles of 2016     Some very cool bikes here. The Ducati XDiavel is gorgeous, the KTM Super Duke GT looks pretty neat, check out the triple exhaust on the MV Agusta Brutale 800.

Design Boom's Top Ten Motorcycles of 2015    Full of wild and weird custom and concept bikes, this list is a hoot to look thru.

Visor Down's Most Influential Motorcycles Ever    Some interesting bikes on this list - including a couple I never heard of - along with the reasoning that makes them influential.

Bike EXIF's Editor's Choice: An Alternative Top Ten    Roland Sands' RD400 is wild, but there are a bunch of neat custom bikes in this list, evidence of the imagination some folks possess.
